Ideas Central — Acceptable Use Policy Version 1.0 (draft), prepared 30 July 2026. Not yet in force.

1. What this is

1.1 This policy sets out what you may not do with Ideas Central. It forms part of the Terms of Service at https://www.ideas-central.com/legal/terms, and words defined there have the same meaning here.

1.2 It is short on purpose. The rule behind all of it: use the Service to design and make your own parts, and do not take the tool itself, break it, or use it to hurt someone.

1.3 This policy applies to everyone: anonymous users, Free, Maker, Studio and Workshop, and every seat and API key on a Workshop account.

2. Safety and weapons

2.1 Do not use the Service to design or produce firearms, firearm components, receivers, suppressors, magazines, ammunition or ammunition components, explosives, or any other weapon or weapon accessory.

2.2 Do not use the Service to design anything intended to injure a person or to evade a lawful safety, security or detection control.

2.3 Clause 7 of the Terms lists further applications, including lifting equipment, medical devices, aerospace, pressure systems and children's products, that you must not use Output for without independent professional engineering sign-off. That list is a contractual warranty and applies alongside this policy.

3. Quotas, limits and gating

3.1 Do not circumvent, disable or interfere with any quota, rate limit, seat limit, storage limit, format gate or feature gate.

3.2 Do not use developer tools, network interception, a modified client, or any other method to obtain geometry, a file format or a feature that your Plan does not include. Geometry is generated in your browser, so this is technically possible. It is still a breach of contract and we treat it as one.

3.3 Do not create multiple accounts, use disposable email addresses, or cycle IP addresses to obtain more free capacity than one account is meant to give.

3.4 Do not misrepresent your Plan, your seat count or your commercial status.

4. Automation and bulk use

4.1 Do not scrape, crawl, index, mirror or systematically download the template catalogue, its descriptions, its parameters or its geometry.

4.2 Do not run automated or scripted bulk generation, or sweep a parameter space to harvest large numbers of files, without our written permission. If you have a genuine high-volume need, write to info@ideas-central.com and we will discuss it. We are usually happy to say yes.

4.3 API access on the Workshop Plan is for your own team's use, within the published rate limits and Export quota. Do not put the API behind a public interface or make it available to people who are not seat holders.

5. Reselling and white-labelling

5.1 You may sell parts you print from Output, and you may sell or licence the files themselves, on the Maker, Studio and Workshop Plans. That is what those Plans are for.

5.2 You may not resell, sublicense, rent, lease, white-label or otherwise provide access to the generator itself, or operate a service whose substance is running the generator for other people.

5.3 You may not share, sell, lend or pool accounts, seats, credentials or API keys. One account is for one human being. Workshop seats are for named individuals and may be reassigned when someone leaves, but not rotated or shared to extend capacity.

6. Uploads and other people's intellectual property

6.1 Do not upload a third party's proprietary CAD file, model or drawing that you do not have the right to upload.

6.2 Do not upload a supplier's, customer's or employer's model that is subject to a confidentiality agreement, a restrictive licence or an export control.

6.3 Do not upload anything confidential, and do not upload another person's personal information that you are not entitled to share.

6.4 Do not use the Service to infringe anyone's patent, copyright, design right, trade mark or trade secret, or to reproduce a protected part in order to avoid buying it.

7. Our software and our infrastructure

7.1 Do not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, deobfuscate, extract or attempt to derive the source of the Templates, the template code, the generator, the validators or any other part of the Service, except to the narrow extent the law expressly allows and does not permit us to exclude.

7.2 Do not copy, republish or repackage the template catalogue, or use it to build or train a competing catalogue, generator or model.

7.3 Do not probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Service, or breach or attempt to breach its security or authentication, without our written permission. Genuine security research is welcome; contact abuse@ideas-central.com first and we will work with you.

7.4 Do not attack the Service or its infrastructure, including by denial of service, flooding, injection, credential stuffing or any attempt to gain unauthorised access to another user's account or data.

7.5 Do not introduce malware, or upload a file crafted to exploit the Service or another user.

7.6 Do not remove, obscure or alter any proprietary notice, watermark or attribution.

8. Lawful and decent use

8.1 Do not use the Service for anything unlawful in South Africa or in the country where you are.

8.2 Do not use the Service to defraud, deceive, harass, threaten, stalk, defame or impersonate anyone.

8.3 Do not use the Service in breach of trade sanctions or export controls that apply to you, to us or to Paddle.

8.4 Do not use the Service to launder money or to process the proceeds of crime.

9. What happens if you break this policy

9.1 Depending on how serious the breach is, how much harm it caused and whether it was repeated, we may:

(a) warn you and ask you to stop;

(b) remove or disable specific content;

(c) throttle, restrict or suspend your account, seats or API keys, with notice where practical and without notice where it is not;

(d) terminate your account without a refund;

(e) report the matter to law enforcement or to a regulator;

(f) take legal action, including for an interdict and for damages.

9.2 We will normally warn first for a minor or accidental breach. We will not warn first for anything in clause 2, for an attack on the infrastructure, for account or seat trafficking, or where warning would let evidence be destroyed or harm continue.

9.3 If your account is terminated for a breach of this policy, you are not entitled to a refund of any fee already paid, and we may refuse to supply you again.

9.4 If you think we have got it wrong, reply to the notice or write to legal@ideas-central.com. We will look again.

10. Reporting abuse

10.1 To report a breach of this policy, a security vulnerability, an infringement of your intellectual property, or misuse of the Service, write to abuse@ideas-central.com.

10.2 Tell us what happened, when, and how we can verify it. Include links or account details where you have them. We investigate every report we can act on, and we will not share your identity with the person you report unless the law requires it.

11. Changes

11.1 We may update this policy. Material changes are notified by email at least 30 days in advance, under clause 20 of the Terms.
